Job Description: JOB TITLE: Senior Technology Consultant (Technology Consultant) LOCATION: Dallas, TX, and work from home DUTIES: Manage the delivery of software development projects, as an individual contributor, including managing all phases of mid to large-scale programs, with special emphasis on complex business change.
Work with Product Owner, Business Partners and developers to define and prioritize features for software roadmap ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical roadmap.
Manage and track project deliverables to ensure delivery as scheduled and agreed quality standards.
Resolve complex business issues by ensuring implementation of resilient, fault tolerant, scalable systems with coordination of design with Technical Lead and Solution Architect.
Ensure clarity or requirements between Business Partners and developers by maintaining a healthy backlog and fostering collaboration between analysts and technical team; requiring appropriate documentation and signoff to improve alignment and minimize scope change.
Lead and manage efforts to help avoid technical debt or improve consistency in processes or technology.
Lead team in story point estimations by using Agile methodology and ensure development team meets the average velocity of agreed upon user stories per sprint.
Ensure creation and use of design documents using Agile software development methodologies.
Lead requirements analysis effort through development, testing and support.
Work with cloud platform team to ensure implementation of Cloud migration strategy for Cargo Suite of applications.
Lead efforts to maintain the Cargo Capacity Forecasting System (CCFS) and Cargo Pricing (CP) by working closely with Technical Lead, Product Owner and suppliers.
Manage all risks and issues that arise as part of the upgrade process, escalating when appropriate.
Implement roll-out strategy for deployment to production environment and work with Technical Lead to achieve technical goals and Product Owner to achieve business goals.
Gather, document, and translate complex requirements into manageable and deliverable requirements or stories by working with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Business Partners, and coaching team members.
Ensure business needs are satisfied through formulation, development, implementation and delivery of application solutions in response to customer requirements.
Facilitate API and Java development using Waterfall, Agile or Scrum development methodologies, using JIRA and Confluence or similar specialized tools for generating software development plans and tracking project progress daily.
Build Swaggers which is a set of rules, specifications, and tools for developing and describing RESTful APIs.
Responsible for versioning tools including GitLab and Subversion (SVN).
Act as an escalation point for analysts and test team, and mentor team for professional development.
Plan and lead all Agile scrum ceremonies such as Daily Standup, Retrospective, Demonstration and Planning.
Responsible for airline cargo business domain working with IATA (International Air Travel Association) messaging for interline and freight forwarder bookings, invoicing systems such as Simplified Invoicing System (SIS) and Cargo Accounts Settlement System (CASS), CCFS, CP and Cargo Customs System (CCS).
Responsible for allocating tasks based on priorities, staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
Coach team to achieve product goals and continually adapt and prioritize project tasks on a regular basis.
Identify new tools and processes for team to demonstrate a continuous integration mindset and minimize administrative overhead.
Steer team through issues, ensure best practices are met and provide resolution of problems blocking the development or impacting production.
Plan for performance unit testing, system integration and user acceptance testing.
Fix errors and bugs identified in the course of testing, ensure non-functional requirements are met by execution of performance test, failover testing and security testing; and issues found from such testing be remediated.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Senior Consultant, IT Project Manager, or in a related/similar position.
Experience therein to include 5 years managing all phases of mid to large-scale programs, with special emphasis on complex business change; gathering, documenting, and translating complex requirements into manageable and deliverable requirements or stories by working with Product Owners, Technical Leads, Business Partners, and coaching team members; 3 years facilitating API and Java development using Waterfall, Agile or Scrum development methodologies, using JIRA and Confluence or similar specialized tools for generating software development plans and tracking project progress daily; working in the airline cargo business domain working with IATA messaging for interline and freight forwarder bookings, invoicing systems such as SIS and CASS, CCFS, CP and CCS; building Swaggers which is a set of rules, specifications, and tools for developing and describing RESTful APIs; and using versioning tools including GitLab and SVN.
Must have ability to work from home.
