Lead Bartender/Bar Manager

*About American Legion Post 597* American Legion Post 597 is a veteran's organization dedicated to assisting veterans as well as the local community.
We are a private club with about 300 members, but the post is open to the public.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience.
Candidates must be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers’ needs and expectations.
Weekends are a MUST!! Pay is hourly rate plus tips.
Can earn upwards of $50K per year.
You are in complete control of your earnings.
*Duties* * Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons * Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks * Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations * Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails * Plan and present drink menu * Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age and/or membership status * Order, restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies * Stay "Guest Focused" and nurture an excellent guest experience * Comply with all food and beverage regulations * Perform cleaning and closing duties as required.
*Skills* * Resume and proven working experience as a bartender * Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks * Computer literacy * Knowledge of a second language is a plus, but not required * Positive attitude and excellent communication skills * Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean * Relevant training certificate * Previous experience in the food service or restaurant industry is preferred * Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing and payment handling * Basic math skills for calculating bills, making change, and managing inventory * Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment * Knowledge of brewing techniques and cocktail recipes is a plus * Willingness to assist with catering events as needed * Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
