Under the general direction of the Director of Production & the Senior Production Manager, the contracted Over-hire Production Manager supports the Production Department for shows and events presented in the AT&T Performing Arts Center venues and ancillary spaces, as well as Center presented events off campus, rental events, and co-produced events.
Leadership of production-related staff and IA Crew Heads is required.
In addition to performing the duties listed below about Production Management on contracted shows, this position will contribute to additional events and shows (as needed) for all Center venues.
Extensive interdepartmental collaboration is expected, including management of catering, parking, security, and other non-production-related needs for contracted shows and events.
Duties may be assigned or modified as needed by the Director of Production.
This position is a detail-oriented, highly organized team player with excellent interpersonal skills who works seamlessly and efficiently with AT&T Performing Arts Center staff and end users of campus and off-site facilities.
Essential skills include the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining high professionalism.
Must be a self-starter and work autonomously using independent judgment.

Position Responsibilities (include, but not limited to): Work with the Production Department, Events Department, and others to achieve high-quality results in all technical and non-technical aspects for various contracted shows and events.
Advance the technical aspects of events and shows as assigned/contracted.
Coordinate with producing tenants regarding local conditions, venue characteristics, and available labor and equipment within the terms of their contract.
Work with the tour, venue, and outside vendors to advance and coordinate the following: (included, but not limited to) artist hospitality/catering, dressing room requirements, runner, parking, merchandise sales, and artist VIP/meet-and-greet experiences as needed.
Evaluate the crew and equipment requirements for events while considering budget, overall availability of Center resources, and the time to execute.
Translate these evaluations into cost projections, budgets, crew calls, and purchase and rental orders.
Assist and be accountable for ensuring that all necessary technical, production, and department information essential to the successful execution of each event has been accurately acquired and disseminated.
Communicate event and department needs as assigned.
Delegate duties and ensure a task is understood, supervised, and accomplished.
Participate in emergency management planning and preparedness for assigned/contracted shows and events.
Complete and submit all required documentation including, but not limited to, event reviews, expense reports, show settlements, malfunction, incident, and event reports for all Center events as assigned/contracted.
Report any unsafe working conditions or practices to management.
Thorough understanding of IATSE-based labor and contracts.
Education and/or Experience: Ideally, it requires three to five years of experience in large-scale theatrical operations with hands-on and supervisory skills in various technical disciplines.
Bachelor’s degree in performing arts, arts management, or equivalent experience.
CAD/Vectorworks experience is a plus.
ESTA certifications are a plus.
Experience and Skills: Excellent understanding of all aspects of live entertainment production and processes, including theatre, dance, concerts, etc.
Exceptional leadership and organizational abilities.
Familiarity with the implementation of union contracts.
Comprehensive problem-solving skills in a dynamic, high-pressure show environment.
Able to exhibit appropriate professional and corporate demeanor, considerable tact, and courtesy when interacting with members of the public in various situations.
Capacity to effectively and efficiently multitask, set priorities, shift priorities, and adapt to situation changes.
Skills in assessing customer needs and dedication to meeting quality standards for service.
Excellent communication skills between all production areas, customers, and the public.
Schedule, workflow, personnel, and budget management abilities.
Ability to read, draw, and interpret site diagrams, location maps, plots, etc.
Capable of working at elevated heights, 90 feet and higher.
Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
Appropriate appearance and dress are required at all times.
Available to work frequent long and varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
Experience with Windows-based programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
