*Role Description*
This is a full-time on-site role for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager located in Ennis, TX.
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, developing and implementing policies and procedures, conducting safety training, and performing accident investigations.
*Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards*
1.
Develop and implement comprehensive environmental health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and assess compliance with safety standards.
3.
Provide subject matter expertise in Process Safety ensuring industry best practice.
4.
Provide training to employees on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
5.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention.
6.
Collaborate with management and relevant departments to address safety concerns, develop corrective actions, and ensure implementation.
7.
Maintain and update safety data sheets (SDS) for hazardous chemicals and substances used in the workplace.
8.
Stay updated on the latest developments in environmental health and safety regulations and best practices, and recommend necessary changes to existing policies and procedures.
9.
Monitor air quality, water quality, noise levels, and other environmental factors to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
10.
Assist in the development of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire prevention measures, and spill response protocols.
11.
Coordinate with external agencies, such as regulatory bodies and emergency services, to ensure compliance and effective communication during incidents or inspections.
12.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the safety program using established goals and make recommendations and implement corrective action(s) based on industry standards and best practices.
13.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations.
14.
Experience in conducting risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations.
15.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train employees and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
16.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate safety measures.
17.
Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
18.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
19.
Physical fitness and ability to carry out field inspections and assessments.
*Qualifications*
* Experience in Health & Safety and Environment Health and Safety (EHS)
* Experience in safety management experience
* Experience in developing and conducting training programs
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (OSHA, DOT, NFPA, EPA, OSHA 300 logs)
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field
* Certifications in relevant areas are a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.
00 - $80,000.
