The Diversity Business Resource Group (DBRG) Manager plans, organizes, directs all initiatives related to our core value of Inclusion and is responsible for the effective leadership and oversight of all our Diversity Business Resource Groups that support the Dallas Hyatt hotel locations.
Hyatt’s Diversity Business Resource Groups (DBRGs) have historically been a forum for creating a sense of awareness for specific colleague groups at work.
DBRGs help educate and influence inclusion for our colleagues, clients, and customers to achieve specific business outcomes.
Each DBRG should focus on DE&I goals and objectives that ultimately influence business results in the categories of who we employ, develop, and advance, who we support, and who we buy from and work with.
Responsibilities: Train and educate others on effective inclusive behaviors, talent selection and leadership skills, and retention strategies associated with a diverse team/workforce.
Proactively identify opportunities to coach and mentor others to seek and understand unique individual backgrounds, encourage diverse viewpoints and provide support so others can thrive.
Host a monthly meeting with General Managers and Human Resources Directors of the two hotels to recap strategic updates, accomplishments, opportunities, and progress on short, mid and long-term goals.
Design and deliver workshops utilizing our Employee Value Proposition (EVP), the People Playbook, our Leadership Expectations and our online learning platform, My Learning to further develop our leadership talent.
Establish business outcomes, goals and roadmap for all DBRG chapters and create continuity with activities and events.
All initiatives should support Hyatt’s DE&I efforts in the areas of membership, community networking, philanthropic efforts, attract future talent and increase supplier diversity.
Enable success through guidance and direction on outcomes needed to be achieved and connect the work to Hyatt’s Purpose and Values.
Ensure colleagues demonstrate and align their behavior to mirror our expectations of Care, Inclusion, Respect, Empathy, Experimentation, Integrity and Wellbeing.
Key Goals | Living Hyatt’s Values of Empathy & Inclusion Increase colleague awareness and understanding of biases and its impact on others.
Leaders will feel more confident to proactively address and resolve allegations of bias with empathy.
Become a certified facilitator of Hyatt’s Leading Inclusively Training.
Advance care, raise awareness around bias and mitigate risk through a webinar series.
Ensure Integrate Bias Awareness training is incorporated into the annual compliance curriculum.
Qualifications Principal requirements: 3+ years-experience in a DE&I role or similar.
Education with a DE&I focus that effectively demonstrates key knowledge, skills and abilities is a plus.
A passion, desire and effectiveness to drive inclusion, equity and diversity throughout our hotels.
Great knowledge of local human rights laws, initiatives and issues.
Established relationships with local community based organizations.
Proficient communication and presentation skills with the ability to educate and develop DBRG leaders, department leaders and other team members.
Ability to explain new or complex ideas to diverse audiences.
Experience working with policies, creating guidelines and leading leaders.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Change and conflict management experience.
Engaging & energetic personality, effective with planning, organizing, leading and achieving results.
