Position Summary
Director of SCM Strategy is responsible for expanding the supply chain strategy team’s influence and engagement with business leaders and owners of key product categories within SEA and major customers.
This role will lead a small team of strategy professionals and facilitate collaboration with the broader supply chain strategy and operation teams.
This role will have to focus on building the relationships at the SVP and VP level of within the company (SEA) and its customers and service providers.
This role will spearhead creating, selling and implementing Supply Chain strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
It will require the qualified candidate to evaluate and vet new opportunities and make recommendations for a path forward including managing existing and new/early stage developments through maturity.
This includes business case creation and strategic analytics to propose and implement enhancements and improvements.
Director of SCM Strategy will collaborate with Sales & Account Management, Technology, Operations, Finance and Marketing Leadership to proactively evaluate new projects and maintain/enhance existing projects, with a primary focus on innovative strategies.
The role will attempt to solve the biggest challenges facing Samsung and our customers’ supply chains.
We are seeking someone who will challenge the status quo in search of new processes, ideas, technology to deliver on growth and improve competitive position.
This person will generate innovative ideas and solutions to meet and exceed customer experience and drive margin, and present key findings from data analysis to support internal and customer groups.
Initial scope of work and focus area will be Supply Chain Strategy & Project Management for Mobile business, with a future plan to expand to Consumer Electronics business as well.
Role and Responsibilities 12+ years’ experience in strategy, consulting, supply chain analysis/optimization, financial modeling, and/or process creation & redesign Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus People management experience as a team/project leader Understanding of inventory theory and practice and adept in supply chain best practices is a plus Proven experience facilitating the execution of key supply chain projects or other projects Critically evaluate complex problems, provide clear and concise recommendations.
Identify and facilitate prioritization of initiatives to increase supply chain efficiency and create long-term value for both the business and its customers.
Develop and ensure compliance to supply chain management processes, procedures and business practices.
Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies.
Strong analytical abilities to analyze business performance around supply chain challenges High-level of confidence, integrity, enthusiasm, executive presence that fits a fast-paced, energetic and proactive organization.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills to both internal and external clients coupled with exceptional Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities Ability to build strong relationships with peers, across the organization and the senior leadership team.
Ability to effectively work within a complex, matrix environment.
