YOUR IMPACT Agency Loan Servicing team is seeking an experienced professional with strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills capable of collaborating with external and internal partners to administer syndicated loans lead by Goldman Sachs based on terms outlined in the Credit Agreement.
The role requires understanding of the loans market, loan accounting, and cash reconciliation.
Risk management and control execution are essential when performing the role to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation.
OUR IMPACT Agency Loan Servicing interacts with Investment Grade & Leverage Finance Bankers, Credit, Legal, Loan Negotiation Group, various Middle Office teams and Bank Debt Portfolio Group to service facilities where Goldman Sachs is named Administrative Agent.
The team performs important risk management and control-side functions by having an in-depth knowledge of industry standards & practices, reviewing & understanding application of credit agreement terms, and confirming requests are compliant before processing them.
The team members serve as the primary point of contact for Borrowers and Syndicate Members to facilitate on-going scheduled and ad hoc servicing events.
Timely and effective communication as well as high quality execution are essential to deliver excellent internal and external customer service.
Agency Loan Servicing fosters a client centric environment where team members vigilantly monitor changes in the business, markets and regulatory environment.
In addition, members of the team are expected to suggest and initiate workflow changes contributing to the global strategy.
We seek team orientated candidates who can demonstrate excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and prioritize risk accordingly.
Team members are expected to be able to consistently deliver on day-to-day execution as well as contribute to the strategic initiatives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates a solid understanding of industry and business standards and practices of loan documentation processes Performs day-to-day loan transactional processing which may include Borrower advances, invoicing, payment collection & distribution, and reconciliations Engages directly with external customers to disseminate or explain information around positions, exceptions outstanding balances/claims Works closely with own team and internal stakeholders to meet client needs Minimizes risk through a solid understanding of policy and procedural requirements and servers as a checker for activities processed by other team members Deals with most loan-related discrepancies independently and has some latitude to resolve complex issues, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes Contributes or assists as a data provider for weekly, monthly, and quarterly regulatory reporting requirements including Federal Reserve Board (FRB), Bank Holding Company (BHC), and Shared National Credit (SNC) reports Applies judgment when interpreting data, summarizing conclusions, and presents findings to management Leads or participates in enhancements to existing and/ or creation of new workflows, processes, procedures, and system functionality to increase efficacy and efficiency of the team’s loan servicing functions or day-to-day management Leverages highly developed communication skills to engage with various internal and external stakeholders to resolve transactional discrepancies and to collaborate on process and product enhancements and improvements Displays ability to function as a team player while working in a fast-paced environment Escalates proactively issues and takes initiative to both resolve and drive change on process Provides informal guidance and/or on-the-job-training to new team members Collaborates with Global teams in New York, Dallas, London, Bengaluru and Asia on initiatives supporting the loans market Participates in industry initiatives facilitated by the Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA) & Loan Market Association (LMA) SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree required Minimum Loan Servicing (Syndicated Loans) experience of 3 - 5 years Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word Excellent organizational skills, proven analytical skills, enhanced problem-solving ability, and a strong control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal clients with differing levels of product experience Strong leadership skills, ability to gather stakeholder support for initiatives across the teams and see them through to execution Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities High attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy and responsiveness Flexible and able to work well under pressure within a team environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Financial or quantitative educational background Graduate degree Experience working with business intelligence tools ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
