Position Summary:
Hillwood Energy is looking for an Associate/Senior Associate to join our dynamic team, title is commensurate of years of experience.
This individual will be specializing in investment underwriting, deal execution, and portfolio management activities.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in handling all financial aspects of Hillwood Energy's investment initiatives, with a primary emphasis on its domestic portfolio.
You will collaborate closely with a diverse team and gain substantial exposure to senior management.
The role demands a strong proficiency in quantitative analysis and modeling, complemented by practical business acumen.

Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our domestic energy portfolio through:
Leading the production of complex financial analysis and underwriting efforts for acquisition and development of oil and gas investments.
Working closely with portfolio companies to assess organic growth initiatives and provide key updates to ongoing projects.
Reviewing and providing commentary on legal and transactional documents.
Working with Hillwood Energy leadership team to support the deal negotiations and manage the transaction due diligence process.
Provides routine reporting to senior management regarding ongoing investments; which includes cashflow forecasting, variance analysis, key performance indicators, and other ad-hoc analysis.
Oversee, manage and develop junior team members.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong foundation in Accounting and Finance
High aptitude for financial analysis, especially financial modeling – ability to provide more than just the numbers (i.
e.
“tell the story”)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with executive level internal and external clients
Ability to confidently present in front of others; both internally and externally
Strong organization and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
Strong ability to be flexible and multi-task
Willingness to learn and a desire to collaborate in a small, multi-disciplinary team
Ability to travel as needed
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field (i.
e.
- business or math) with a strong academic performance
Masters or MBA degree a plus but not required
Associate candidates must have a minimum of 3- 5 years of relevant experience in a supervisory role
Senior Associate must have a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in a supervisory role
Previous experience in banking, private equity or upstream oil and gas industry, strongly preferred
Experience overseeing and working on the entire transaction process, including, underwriting to deal execution to post-close management
