*Position: Informatics Specialist*

*Position Summary* Under the direction and in collaboration with the Manager of Informatics, the Informatics Specialist works directly with providers and nurses to ensure consistent use, support, and optimization of clinical information technology.
The Informatics Specialist works with the IT and other departments to support the Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment.
*Position Responsibilities* Technical Systems Support: · Receives requests and works with physicians, clinicians, IT, patient registration, scheduling, and nursing to resolve issues.
Uses the helpdesk ticketing system to document requests and solutions.
· Receives and clarifies requests for enhancements and modifications to clinical and non-clinical content; works with stakeholders throughout the process; · Works with clinical vendors and supports clinical software applications, namely EHR systems and associated software, as required; · Reviews workflow and recommends solutions; · Tests solutions in the working environment with stakeholders; · Provides on-call assistance as needed.
Written and Verbal Communication: · Liaises with different departments end users, physicians, nurses, clinical providers, and IT; · Documents and communicates clinical solutions and updates; · Identifies support trends and training needs; recommends remedies; · Prepares training documents, coaches, orients, trains physicians, providers, and nurses; · Notifies management and technical staff about any potential problems associated with the hospital computing environment and systems; · Provides input to policies and procedures, training, and best practices for use within the Hospital; · Participates in committee assignments as required.
Technical Projects: · Acts as project lead or project resource for physicians, nurses, clinical providers and IT with given clinical technology implementation projects or as directed by the informatics manager; · Assists in testing new and existing clinical applications under development or consideration for purchase; · Assists in implementing applications which support the successful adoption of health information technology into the patient care process by physicians and providers; · Assists clinicians in identifying appropriate workflows to efficiently integrate computer applications into the patient care processes.
*Other Responsibilities* · Completes required orientation as directed by facility · Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment · Follows facility Unusual Occurrence Protocol · Respects cultural and religious practices of patients · Upholds HIPAA regulations · Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts *Position Requirements* · This position requires clinical communications and analytical skills normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in clinical informatics, nursing, health technologies, or a related field, or equivalent clinical technology training in a computer-related field.
· Minimum of one (1) year in nursing setting with technical support of clinical information systems in direct interaction with clinical providers OR · 1 year of experience in clinical informatics, or application support.
· Federal-, State- and GHR-required credentials current and on file.
· Cognitive skills as related to the position *Working Conditions* Because patients need round-the-clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends, and holidays or as directed by the Informatics Manager.
*Physical Demands* · Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty · (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one hundred (100) pounds.
